In the framework of INOGATE project on “INOGATE Technical
Secretariat and integrated programme in support of the Baku Initiative and the
Eastern Partnership energy objectives” the INOGATE Technical Secretariat
organised a Regional Seminar and
Study Visit on the Development of Harmonisation Road Maps and Action Plans, and
Capacity Building recommendations.
The event took place in London, United Kingdom from 8th to 11th July 2013 and has been
hosted by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
The overall objective of the programme is to contribute to
the progress of the INOGATE Partner Countries in the achievement of the Baku
Initiative and the Eastern Partnership objectives. The programme aims to
support a reduction in their dependency on fossil fuels and imports,
improvement of the security of their energy supply, and climate change overall
mitigation.
One of the aims of the
INOGATE Technical Secretariat project is to promote the use and harmonisation
of European and International gas and electricity standards. Armenia delegation
comprising of Head of quality infrastructure department of the Ministry of
Economy Mrs. Lili Maksudyan, Head of Department for Development of the Ministry
of Energy and Natural Resources Mr. Hrachik Tsughunyan, and Deputy Director of
SARM Mr. Gevorg Nazaryan participated in the regional seminar and study visit.
During the workshop
speakers presented the final results of the ”Review of standardisation and technical legislation systems of INOGATE Partner Countries”, the draft versions of Harmonisation Road Maps and Action
Plans. The workshop was also an occasion to validate the final data collected
on priority gas and electricity standards for each INOGATE Partner Country. In addition, the Secretary
of the EASC Bureau of Standards Mr.
Nikolai Sonets has presented the opportunities for the adoption of gas
standards translated into Russian that have been discussed. The participants
decided to ask the EASC to send the translations of standards from the previous
INOGATE project to the NSBs of Partner Countries, as to let the national TCs
discussing the possibility of adoption of the translated EN standards on
national or regional level.
