On
March 11 the National Institute of Standards visited the Mayor Mr. Gagik Beglaryan. The main goal of the
visit was to discuss the main directions of coorporetion of National Institute
of Standards and Yerevan Municipality.
Institution
during the past 3-4 years have already developed a number of technical
regulations projects, which have been approved by the government and
significantly contributed to the city in a settlement of problems. For example,
city apartment buildings elevators operated security requirements definition to
institute stakeholder participation is developed, lift and
operational security requirements, technical regulations, which operates since
2007.Also developed and operated « Ecological transportation security measures
in the territory of the Republic of Armenia » technical regulations, which
promotes the use of cars reduce harmful emissions.
Currently
in preparation is also «Electric
illumination of the requirements
regarding» technical regulations, which
will promote the city and other areas of internal and external electric
lighting network planning, construction, maintenance and safe operation.
Yerevan Mayor Mr. G. Beglaryan and Director of Institute Mr. E. Azarian
discussed cooperation opportunities, city and municipality coordinates the
activities of existing organizations. For increasing efficiency was suggested
to contribute to the international organizations with a great reputation and a
very important quality and environmental management systems introduction and
the possible certifiication. In particular, quality management systems (ISO 9001) helps to
increase the profitability of the organization and quality of goods and
services. The introduction of environmental management systems (ISO 14001)
significantly regulate the ecological situation in the city, because polluting
companies continually improve air and water pollution and land resources
management.
Also
proposed to introduce ISO 14001 system for the city of Yerevan, following the
experience of such large cities, such as Mekhikon, Dalase, Kalgrin, etc., where
the system achieve serious economic and ecological benefits.
In
today’s world we need to have a high level of expectation that things will work
the way we expect them to work.
Boosting the free movement of services by facilitating the definition of
services standards at European level is also the aim of CEN and CENELEC. An
effective services market is of utmost importance in generating growth and jobs
in Europe.
