The director of national institute of standards (SARM)  Y.Azaryan participated in ISO council standing committee on strategy 30^th meeting on january 24-25 in Geneva. Agenda was very heavy and contained a number of important issues discussion. During the meeting was discussed ISO 2011-2015 performance criteria of strategic plan, ISO members and leaders needs and expectations from 2011-2015 strategic plan implementation, ISO`s cooperation effectiveness criterias with other organizations, initiatives for expansion activities in new areas of standardization, monitoring ISO`s business model stability and other issues.

Participating in ISO`s council meeting SARM director had special meetings with ISO secretary-general Mr. Rob Steele, director of Indonesia institute of standardsMr. Bambang Setiadi, director of German institute of standards Mr. Torsten Bethke and director of Saudi Arabia institute of standards Mr. Nabil Mulla during which was discussed possibilities of bilateral cooperation. In particular, agreement was reached with Mr. Bambang Setiadi for helping SARM certification body and laboratory to get international accreditation.

ISO president B. Alyoshin and Russian Federation Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology director G.Elkin were in Armenia with the first official visit.

In today’s world we need to have a high level of expectation that things will work the way we expect them to work. 

Boosting the free movement of services by facilitating the definition of services standards at European level is also the aim of CEN and CENELEC. An effective services market is of utmost importance in generating growth and jobs in Europe.
