The WTO/TBT Agreement stipulates that each Member country have to establish an enquiry point, which is able to answer to all reasonable enquiries from other Members and interested parties in other Members. One of the major provisions of the TBT Agreement is notification on proposed technical regulations that are significantly affect trade.

Enquiry Point under the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) is created at the National Institute of Standards to provide with information on technical regulations, standards and conformity assessment in order to reduce technical barriers to trade and assist in issues related with export and import of goods and services;

The main activities of Enquiry Point are:

- answering all reasonable enquiries from other Members and interested parties in other Members as well as upon their request provides the copies of adopted or proposed Armenian standards, technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures in Armenian language;
- preparing enquiries from Armenian organizations and interested parties on standards, technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures of other Members as well as provision of required information.
